What is text to video?

Text to video is a kind of generative AI that reads a written description and produces a matching video clip. Instead of filming, editing and grading footage, you write what you want to see: the subject, the place, the light, the mood and how the camera moves. The model then creates every frame for you.

Tips for better text-to-video prompts

• Lead with the subject and the action: who or what, doing what.
• Name the place and time of day. Light does most of the work in a good shot.
• Describe one main camera move. Several conflicting moves in five seconds look messy.
• Keep each clip to one moment. For a story, make several clips and join them in your editor.
• Use the style picker instead of typing a style name: it is applied more firmly.
